On Thursday evening, October 11th, Shepherds, a mentoring and scholarship non-profit based in Bridgeport, will celebrate 20 years of “changing students lives” with a gala at The Inn at Longshore in Westport. The evening will feature highly respected TV journalist and co-anchor of ABC News’ Nightline, Byron Pitts, speaking on his inspiring life experience growing up in inner city Baltimore and overcoming the challenges of illiteracy and a speech impediment.
The planning committee, including Shepherds’ Board of Directors, met recently to continue planning for this year’s 20th anniversary celebration scheduled for Thursday, October 11th at The Inn at Longshore in Westport.

Seven young men from the Shepherds program at Notre Dame West Haven graduated on Sunday, May 27th. Congratulations to these students, their mentors, teachers and families.
Shepherds students from Notre Dame of West Haven will graduate this Sunday. In advance of the ceremony, an Honors Convocation was held in the Collins Auditorium on Thursday 5/17/18. Several of the graduating Shepherds seniors received honors at the event.
Shepherds, in conjunction with Kolbe Cathedral High School, held its annual brunch at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield on Saturday, May 12. The event brings together current Shepherds students enrolled at the school, their mentors, family and staff from both organizations.
Notre Dame Alumnus, LA entertainment lawyer, pastor, author and community builder, Marc. T. Little, returned to campus to visit with other alumni, learn about the school’s Shepherd program and share his experiences.
Shepherds students started their college admission process by visiting several area colleges and universities including the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London.
